Rae Threnoworth, 23, grew up in Western Australia where the long stretches
of white sandy beaches and rugged coastline fuelled her love for the ocean.
After completing her Advanced Diploma of photography in 2004, it wasn’t until she
became the Multimedia Representative for the Saltwater Sistas, an all girls surf club,
that the vibrance and energy of her fellow surfer girls inspired her passion for surfing. Inevitably, this passion combined with a love for capturing the adventurous and free lifestyle of the surfing culture in which she was apart of, gave birth to Blue Element Photography.
“My goal is to share with you the magic that, as a surfer, I am fortunate to experience every day. From paddling out into the clear blue water before sunrise and feeling the gentle offshore winds on my face, to feeling intensity and power of the ocean before a storm and introducing to you the tribe of people that share this passion with me.
I hope that through my images, you can feel what I am so grateful
to feel as I photograph them.”
